On 12 May 2026, Art for Good had the privilege of facilitating the first session of the Colours of Care caregivers workshop series in partnership with MPCSL, held at MPathy @ The Anchor, Marine Parade MRT.

The session began with a simple invitation: to pause.

For many caregivers, daily life revolves around caring for someone else. This workshop created a space where they could turn their attention inward—through colours, lines, and images that expressed feelings that are often difficult to put into words.

Our opening session focused on creative expression and self-reflection. Participants explored the relationship between colours and emotions before creating a caregiver identity portrait, a gentle art exercise that invited them to reflect on their lived experiences, personal strengths, and the many roles they carry.

As portraits began to take shape, each artwork became deeply personal. Some were filled with flowers, symbols of hope, and vibrant colours. Others revealed quiet strength, tenderness, fatigue, resilience, and the longing to be seen. There was no right or wrong way to create—only an invitation to be honest.

What was especially meaningful was witnessing the conversations that emerged through the art. Caregivers shared stories, encouraged one another, and found moments of connection through their creative process. In that room, art became more than an activity; it became a way of saying, “This is how I have been feeling.”

The portrait activity reminded us that caregivers are not defined solely by the people they care for. They are individuals with their own identities, emotions, dreams, and inner worlds that also deserve attention and care.

We are deeply honoured to be the first of 10 invited vendors to lead a session in this meaningful series. It is a privilege to contribute to a wider collective effort dedicated to supporting caregiver well-being through creativity, reflection, and community.

A heartfelt thank you to MPCSL for the opportunity to journey alongside the caregiver community. We look forward to the sessions ahead and to continuing this journey together—one colour, one portrait, and one story at a time.
