Many Hands, One Shared Purpose: A Community Mural at Saint Andrew's Autism Centre

On 22–23 May 2026, Art for Good had the privilege of partnering with Saint Andrew's Autism Centre (SAAC) Siglap to create a meaningful community mural—one that celebrates creativity, inclusion, and the power of coming together.

What began as a blank wall soon transformed into a vibrant coastal scene, painted not by a single artist, but by many hands united by one shared purpose.

The heart of the project took place on Day 1, when beneficiaries from SAAC picked up their brushes and became the artists behind the mural. Guided by the Art for Good team, every participant contributed to the artwork, carefully painting waves, colourful fish, corals, and the evening sky. Each brushstroke reflected not only creativity but also the unique strengths and perspectives that every individual brings to a community.

More than an art activity, the mural became a shared experience—filled with encouragement, laughter, focus, and meaningful conversations. Participants supported one another as the artwork slowly came to life, reminding us that beautiful things are created when everyone has the opportunity to contribute.

On Day 2, our artists were joined by generous sponsors to complete the final details. Together, they added the finishing touches to the mural, bringing the underwater landscape, rolling waves, and guiding lighthouse into full view. The completed artwork now stands as a lasting symbol of hope, guidance, resilience, and belonging—a daily reminder that every person has an important place within the community.

This project would not have been possible without the generosity of our anonymous donor, whose support made this initiative a reality. We are also deeply grateful to every volunteer, sponsor, staff member, and participant who gave their time, energy, and heart to this mural.
