  • Online Art Therapy Workshops for Credit Suisse

November 2021 - December 2021 Promoting Mental Health through Art: Credit Suisse's Innovative Approach In a proactive move to prioritize the mental well-being of its employees, Credit Suisse embarked on a series of Online Art Therapy Workshops from November to December 2021. Partnering with Art for Good, these workshops aimed not only to foster self-care and stress management skills but also to strengthen resilience and team bonds among participants. There were a total of seven workshops ranging from workshops in self-care for employees, coping with stress in the workplace, resilience, and team bonding (to promote better relationships). A Collaborative Effort Credit Suisse collaborated with Art for Good to facilitate these workshops, recognizing the importance of mental health in maintaining a productive workforce. The workshops were structured to cover a variety of themes crucial to mental well-being, such as self-care strategies, coping with workplace stress, resilience building, and enhancing team dynamics. Inclusive Christmas Workshop One event that stood out within this series was the Christmas-themed workshop, where participants had the unique opportunity to engage with beneficiaries from the Rare Disorders Society of Singapore (RDSS). This session not only encompassed festive crafts, but also served as a poignant reminder of gratitude and resilience. Participants joined RDSS beneficiaries in creating Christmas cards and intricate snowflake cutouts, all while reflecting on the theme of gratitude and the joy of giving. Impact and Insights The workshops proved to be an eye-opening experience for Credit Suisse employees. Witnessing the resilience of children with rare disorders actively participating in the art-making process despite challenges, left a profound impression on the participants. Simple activities like crafting became profound exercises in perseverance and joy, demonstrating the power of art therapy in promoting mental wellness. Adaptation and Success Amidst Challenges Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the workshops successfully transitioned to an online format via Zoom. This adaptation ensured that the initiative could continue reaching both corporate participants and vulnerable communities like RDSS beneficiaries. Drawing from past successes, such as engagements with YouthCorps, the organizers remained steadfast in their mission to promote self-care and mental well-being, undeterred by external circumstances. Looking Ahead As the world navigates ongoing uncertainties, initiatives like Credit Suisse's Mental Health Workshops serve as a beacon of hope and resilience. By prioritizing mental wellness through innovative approaches like art therapy, organizations not only support their employees' well-being but also foster a culture of empathy and inclusion. Credit Suisse's engagement in Online Art Therapy Workshops underscores an admirable commitment to holistic employee care and community outreach. By embracing the transformative power of art and mental health awareness, they set a precedent for corporate responsibility and compassion in challenging times.

  • A Meaningful Art Team Bonding Workshop with Shell

June 17, 2022 We are deeply grateful to Shell for inviting us to facilitate their Art Team Bonding Workshop on 17 June 2022—a day filled with creativity, reflection, and giving back to the community. The workshop unfolded in two parts. In the first session, Art for Self-Care, participants personalised beer glasses using the delicate art of glass etching. As they worked, we encouraged them to reflect on the classic question: Is your glass half full or half empty? The answer we shared was a joyful reminder—your glass is always full (50% air + 50% water). This activity became more than just decoration; it was an exercise in positive thinking, creative exploration, and perseverance. The second session brought an element of playfulness and purpose. Together, the team crafted 50 cheerful minion pencil toppers, each destined to bring a smile to a child from a low-income family at Brighton. Every topper represented not just skill and effort, but also the warmth and generosity of the Shell team. By the end of the day, the tables were lined with etched glasses and rows of bright yellow minions—tangible symbols of a workshop that blended self-care, teamwork, and community spirit into one meaningful experience.

  • Art Therapy Workshops with Brighton Connection

August 2021 - June 2022 August 2021 – Connecting Seniors Through Art During the height of the pandemic, concerns grew about how to reach and engage seniors from the Brighton community during lockdown. These creations were later gifted to children from low-income families within the Brighton community—spreading joy across generations despite the physical barriers. The session was more than just an art activity; it became a platform for social workers to interact with and check in on the seniors, ensuring they felt supported and connected during a difficult time. It was a reminder that art can be a bridge—not only between people, but between hearts. June 2022 – Empowering Children Through Creativity During the June 2022 school holidays, we conducted four in-person Art Therapy Workshops at Brighton (Simei) and Brighton (MacPherson). Around 40 children from low-income families joined us, diving into creativity through art journaling and hands-on projects. These workshops aimed to help children regulate their emotions through artmaking, while also building their confidence and empowering them to express themselves freely. The sessions were filled with laughter, colour, and imagination—proving once again that art is not just about making something beautiful, but about nurturing resilience, joy, and self-expression.

  • Art for Good x BGPS CARES | Community Art at Heartbeat@Bedok

July 26, 2025 Singapore, 26 July 2025 – On a vibrant Saturday afternoon, Art for Good was invited to lead a truly special Community Art Event: "Bedok Green Primary School Cares" at Heartbeat@Bedok, in collaboration with BGPS CARES (Bedok Green Primary School’s Community and Relief Efforts). What unfolded was more than just an art activity—it was a heartfelt celebration of connection across generations. Students from Bedok Green Primary School, brimming with energy and curiosity, painted side by side with seniors from the community, whose wisdom and stories added depth and meaning to every brushstroke. These moments of shared creativity were filled with stories, laughter, and an unspoken understanding that art can transcend age, background, and experience. 🖌️ Art as a Bridge Between Young and Old At Art for Good, our mission has always been to use art as a vehicle for inclusion, mental wellness, and positive social impact. This event was a perfect embodiment of that mission. The centrepiece of the project was six large 1x1 metre canvases, each becoming a space for self-expression and collaboration. Students, seniors, parents, and members of the community all contributed to these canvases, filling them with colours, patterns, and personal touches that reflected the diversity and unity of the group. When joined together, these six canvases reveal the powerful words “BGPS CARES”—a striking visual statement of empathy, kindness, and community spirit. This isn’t just art for art’s sake—it’s a message, a memory, and a shared legacy. The completed artwork will soon be proudly displayed at Bedok Green Primary School, serving as an enduring reminder of what can be achieved when people of all ages come together to create something meaningful. 🏢 An Open Invitation to Community at Heartbeat@Bedok The choice of venue was no coincidence. Heartbeat@Bedok, an integrated community hub offering healthcare, sports, and family services, provided the ideal setting for such a gathering. Its bright, open-concept atrium allowed for fluid interaction—passersby could easily stop to observe, chat with participants, and even join in spontaneously. And many did. Some were parents who had just dropped their children off for activities. Others were seniors visiting for their regular exercise or medical appointments. But as they passed through, they felt drawn to the energy of the project—some picking up brushes, others offering words of encouragement or sharing stories about their own lives. It was these unscripted, serendipitous moments that truly embodied the spirit of community art: accessible, participatory, and inclusive for all. 💬 Looking Ahead: Art for Good’s Ongoing Mission This project is not just a single afternoon of painting—it is part of a larger vision. At Art for Good, we believe art should be for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or background. Our work is rooted in the understanding that creativity is a universal language, one that fosters empathy, strengthens relationships, and promotes mental well-being. By partnering with schools like Bedok Green Primary and student-led initiatives such as BGPS CARES, we are planting seeds of social responsibility and compassion early. Through joyful, creative experiences like this, young people learn first-hand that they have the power to bring joy and meaning to others—while also learning from those who came before them. The finished “BGPS CARES” artwork will soon be displayed at Bedok Green Primary School, serving as a lasting reminder of what can be achieved when people of all ages come together in the spirit of creativity and care. As the paint dries, the impact of this event continues—living on in the hearts of the participants and the wider community. And for us at Art for Good, it reaffirms why we do what we do: to bridge divides, foster understanding, and inspire change through the simple, yet powerful act of making art together.

In our inclusive studio, individuals with various disabilities and conditions come together to experience the transformative power of art. A Hands-On Event with Heart In our recent crafting session, participants embarked on a journey that was about far more than just making things. With glue, scissors, paint, and lots of imagination, they transformed simple materials into heartfelt creations. The room was filled with focus, laughter, and pride—reminders that art can spark joy, connection, and a sense of belonging. But beneath the fun was something deeper: a space that allowed each participant to explore their own creative voice while being fully supported. This hands-on session wasn’t just about crafting for the sake of it—it was about growth, confidence, and celebrating each person’s unique potential. Why Crafting Matters for Mental Health and Special Needs Crafting is a powerful sensory experience that activates the mind and body together—especially valuable for those with special needs. The process of cutting, folding, pasting, and painting helps regulate emotions, improve fine motor skills, and encourage focus. These tactile experiences offer grounding and structure, allowing individuals to feel safe and engaged. For participants with cognitive or emotional challenges, crafting also offers an accessible way to express thoughts and feelings that might be difficult to verbalize. It promotes mindfulness by encouraging presence in the moment, helping to calm anxiety and build emotional resilience. Every piece created becomes a step toward greater self-awareness and confidence. More Than Just Art—It’s Empowerment As participants completed their projects, many lit up with a sense of achievement. Seeing their ideas come to life helped build pride and self-belief—key ingredients in emotional development. The atmosphere was inclusive and non-judgmental, allowing everyone to take creative risks, make mistakes, and feel proud of their work. Each creation told a story. And while the materials were simple, the impact was profound: art gave participants a space to grow, connect, and feel valued. An Inclusive Studio for Every Artist At Art For Good, inclusion is not a buzzword—it’s a foundation. Our studio welcomes individuals of all backgrounds and abilities, creating a shared space where creativity becomes a universal language. Whether someone faces physical limitations, neurodiversity, or emotional challenges, they are encouraged to participate freely and without fear. Art becomes a bridge—connecting individuals across differences and reminding us that everyone’s perspective is important. In each session, our goal is to foster a community of acceptance, celebration, and growth. The Healing Power of Creativity In a world where mental health challenges are on the rise, especially for youth and individuals with special needs, crafting offers a vital outlet. It is not only therapeutic—it’s empowering. The process teaches patience, builds focus, and offers tangible rewards that reinforce self-esteem. Through these sessions, we saw participants not just crafting with their hands, but with their hearts. Their creations were a reflection of their inner strength, resilience, and joy. These young artists remind us that creativity is not just about making things—it’s about making meaning.

These sessions, held on 6 December 2024 and 13 June 2025, transformed the school’s walls into vibrant works of art, brightening the daily lives of students and staff. A Partnership of Purpose The mural project was made possible through a partnership with Givaudan, a global leader in fragrance, beauty, and taste innovation, known for its commitment to corporate social responsibility and community engagement. These intergenerational groups painted side by side, bringing creativity, energy, and color to the school’s walls. Over the course of the two sessions, four wall sections were transformed with unique mural designs, each centered on themes of inclusivity, growth, and joy. The designs were created to be uplifting and accessible, with space for all participants—regardless of age or artistic background—to make their mark on the project. About Mountbatten Vocational School Mountbatten Vocational School (MVS) is a special education institution in Singapore that serves students with mild intellectual disabilities. The school provides vocational training and life skills development, empowering students to achieve independence and contribute meaningfully to society. MVS plays a vital role in helping students develop self-confidence, practical skills, and resilience as they prepare for the future. The Power of Art and Community The mission of Art for Good is grounded in the belief that art is a powerful tool for healing, learning, and fostering social inclusion. The mural activity at MVS perfectly embodied this mission, bringing together corporate volunteers, children, and the school community to create something lasting and beautiful. The students and staff at MVS were thrilled with the results. The murals not only enhanced the school’s physical environment but also served as a daily reminder of the support and solidarity from the wider community. The Meaning Behind the Murals Each mural was thoughtfully designed to inspire and empower the students at MVS. Below are the meanings and themes of the murals that now grace the school’s walls: Main Outdoor Wall: A Magical Landscape of Learning and Imagination The artwork captures the magic of storytelling, seamlessly weaving themes of inclusiveness into fairytales. This grand mural (3.65m height x 7.5m width) transforms the space into a whimsical world full of adventure. The design features mythical creatures from beloved stories, each representing values that inspire the students. In the center, a brave dragon and a noble knight stand side by side, symbolizing courage and resilience. These characters remind the students that bravery is essential in learning, encouraging them to face challenges with a fearless spirit. At the heart of the mural, a unicorn represents the uniqueness in each child’s individuality and the importance of self-concept. A mermaid, embodying triumph over obstacles and physical challenges, symbolizes the journey of overcoming limitations. These mystical figures inspire students to push past perceived boundaries and thrive against the odds. This enchanting landscape captivates the imagination, fostering a sense of wonder where students can explore, dream, and embrace learning in a world limited only by their imaginations. Garden Wall: A Celebration of Community and Growth The artwork portrays a vibrant garden as a metaphor for community, where diverse animals and plants coexist in harmony—each representing the unique roles, voices, and stories within a collective whole. This mural (2.4m height x 3.3m width) celebrates community, learning, and individuality through vibrant garden animals. At its center is an owl, symbolizing wisdom and guidance—core qualities that MVS nurtures in each child’s unique journey. A mother duck and her duckling represent the supportive role of the school and the active involvement of parents in their children’s education. Surrounding them are animals with distinct traits: a playful squirrel for curiosity, a resilient porcupine for self-protection, a patient snail symbolizing progress at one's own pace, and a quick-witted rabbit for adaptability. These animals, set within a natural garden environment, illustrate the nurturing community at MVS, where every child’s uniqueness is valued, and learning is placed at the core of the experience. Fairy Garden Path: A Celebration of Fairytales, Female Friendship, and Safety This mural embraces the spirit of fairytales, highlighting themes of female friendship, feelings of safety, and soft femininity. Set in a whimsical landscape of oversized mushrooms, gentle curves, and warm tones, this artwork creates an imaginative world where young girls can feel seen, supported, and free to be themselves. At its center, two girls holding hands symbolize trust, connection, and the joy of growing together. Surrounded by fantasy-inspired nature, the scene invites viewers into a gentle space where childhood wonder blends with emotional warmth—offering a quiet yet powerful reminder of how important safe, affirming environments are in every girl's story. Court in Motion: A Tribute to Teamwork, Energy, and Play This mural celebrates the power of movement, teamwork, and the boundless energy of sport. Centered around a vibrant basketball, the artwork features four silhouettes in action—each capturing a different moment of the game. Together, they form a visual rhythm that reflects not just athleticism, but also the values of cooperation, discipline, and perseverance. Set against a bold blue court, the mural reminds viewers of the importance of staying active, building camaraderie, and pushing personal limits. More than just a game, basketball here becomes a symbol of focus, effort, and shared goals—values that inspire both on and off the court. Looking Ahead This mural project stands as a testament to the power of community and collaboration in creating lasting, meaningful change. Here, creativity isn’t just about painting a wall—it’s about using art as a catalyst to build a brighter, more inclusive future. Through Art For Good’s Mural Adoption Program, we support special needs schools and charitable organizations by transforming blank walls into vibrant stories of empowerment and hope. These murals not only beautify spaces, but also foster connection, celebrate diversity, and promote well-being within the community.

It was a moment that marked a deep shift—where love, identity, and purpose came together in a way words could hardly describe. For Amanda, hearing "Mama" for the first time was not just a milestone in motherhood, but a powerful reminder of the bonds we create and the meaning we find through nurturing and connection. It’s a memory she holds close to her heart, grounding her through both personal and professional journeys, highlighting the importance of maternal mental health.  Other Activities : OLPS Communications Ministry ( https://olps.sg/communications-office-541 ), Jesuit Refugee Service Singapore Volunteer ( https://jrssg.org/ ). Through daily self-care rituals such as mindfulness, art-making, journaling, and setting healthy boundaries, Amanda ensures she stays grounded and resilient amid the challenges of her work. Equally important is her optimistic mindset. Amanda chooses to see challenges as opportunities for growth and believes in the power of hope, compassion, and purpose-driven action. This balance of inner care and outward positivity enables her to show up fully for her clients, her team, her family, and her mission. It is this philosophy, rooted in self-awareness and empowered living, that continues to fuel her success and sustain her passion for creating meaningful impact through art  Website :  www.artforgood.sg Primary Social Network : https://www.instagram.com/amandachenlee
